EFT Emotional Freedom TechniquesWHAT IS EFT?
Emotional Freedom Technique EFT has its roots in ancient Chinese medicine and uses the energy pathways of the body called the meridians, similarly used in acupuncture. Developed by Gary Craig, a specialist and researcher in energy therapy techniques, EFT has been practised since the 1990’s and is becoming the leading stress-management therapy for specialist therapists in the UK.

HOW DOES EFT WORK?
EFT works by the patient tapping on a number of meridian points mainly on the face and hands in a consistent routine, whilst focussing their mind on key negative thoughts or feelings. The stress related to these issues and aspects is released from the body and mind, allowing the patient to feel disassociated from the negative emotional component of their problem, reducing the intensity of their stress, enabling an alleviation of emotional anguish.

Advanced research by Dr Dawson Church author of “Genie in Your Genes” shows that applying pressure to the meridian points reduces our stress by sending calming signals through our body to the fight or flight part of our brain called the limbic system. New trials show that a session of EFT dramatically reduces the level of cortisol, the main stress hormone, in the body.

These techniques can address any issues, big or small. They work gently, but rapidly to release the feelings arising from emotions, often in a matter of a few sessions and are also extremely effective for those unable to express their worries.
